Hope everybody had a great weekend!
Last Thursday during my radio interview, a lady called in after I played a song I wrote called "Never Give Up." She said it had touched her and was helping her through a rough time. It was the most rewarding feeling ever having a stranger hear something you've written with the exact intention of giving people hope, and having it actually helped someone.
Tonight my manager's wife Shann shared the story of her niece's birth with me. Shann's sister's water broke way too early and they were afraid the baby wouldn't make it because its lungs hadn't developed and it weighed less than two pounds. Everyone they knew was praying for the family. There continued to be just enough amniotic fluid to sustain the baby because by some miracle what was left inside the womb and the slight amount that continued to be produced remained right in front of the baby's face for just enough time for the lungs to develop. Today, Shann's niece is almost 4-years-old I believe and from all her funny stories she is as smart and healthy not to mention beautiful...(I've seen the pics) as any full-term baby.
Nate, the drummer in my band was talking to Brad, my manager after hearing Natalie Stovall play this weekend. He was talking about how she was selling every word of each of her songs.
After knowing what an affect these songs can have on people and knowing messages like never giving Up are real because of stories like the one of Shann's niece, I want you all to get every word at live shows. Reaching that kind of dynamic with the audience is a new goal. I don't think it was a weakness before, but now I want to make it a strength.
Thanks for reading friends,
